About Laura

I am a Guidance Counsellor with over 15 years experience working in a college as a Careers Counsellor and teaching of various career development courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate level students.

I also work privately as a Guidance Counsellor offering both online and face to face appointments to students, adult learners, and professionals.

From my own practice within the private and public sector, I full believe in and can appreciate the power of information in changing and shaping the direction of a clients life.

Having spent a considerable number of years of my professional life supporting clients experiencing and at risk of addiction, homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health challenges etc, I witnessed first hand both the devastating and life altering impact that a lack of information and knowledge can have on a person's life circumstances.

It has been my purpose to reach as many people as possible, to provide them with the tools and knowledge that they may not have, in turn which will shape and enhance their life opportunities. Life can be difficult. It can be even more difficult when we are unaware of our options or of what steps we must take to achieve what we are capable of doing and enjoy.

About the lesson

Experienced in guiding school leavers, college graduates, working professionals and career changers to make educational and career choices that will complement the skills, knowledge and interests that they most value.

Currently working as a Careers Counsellor at a Third Level College and teaching/lecturing on undergraduate and postgraduate courses on Career Development, CV and Cover Letter writing, Interviewing, Networking and LinkedIn Profile Development.

Expert at writing CVs, Cover Letters, and University Personal Statements that an employer/Course Director will want to read.

Career guidance is for everyone over the age of 16 years and can help in supporting you to make educational and career choices that are a good fit with your interests, functional skills and life purpose.

Qualifications include BA in Psychology, HDIP in Applied Social Studies in Professional Social Care, MSc in Guidance Counselling and qualified to administer Psychometric Testing (Brittish Psychological Society)

Registered with the Irish Guidance Counsellors.
