About Jennifer

I work as a marine data specialist analysing fish stocks and fish catch for fisheries to work towards becoming sustainable. I use python day to day and have a real passion for how amazing a tool Python can be. I've been on several professional training courses and have specialised in machine learning. I've then brought that knowledge back to my company and taught over 20 other staff members Python.

About the lesson

There are 10 sessions that I run each only takes 30-60 minutes. You can start at the beginning if you are a complete beginner or you can pick and choose the sessions you want. We can run them separately or block out a few hours at a time. Here is what I offer: Session1: Intro into what Python is Different platforms you can use How to assign values Different value types Session2: Lists For loop While loop Session 3: If and else conditions Session4: Handling different packages- how to find them and understand them. Session5: Dictionaries- what they are how they store data, how to access the data Session6: Data frames- what they are how they store data, how to access the data, the pros and cons between dictionaries and data frames Session7: Altering data that's already loaded into the dataframe Loading data from an excel sheet Saving data to an excel sheet Session8: Writing your own Functions Session9: Basic graphs (bar charts, box plots, histograms) Basic customisation Session10: Build multiple graphs into one image All my lessons are hands on with you writing code from the start. You follow along with my screen testing each step yourself. We don't rush ahead always go at your pace answering any questions that you have. I have mini tasks for you to complete as you go as well as homework to test yourself after you've had a sleep and see if you can still follow the logic.
