About Elmira
My name is Elmira(Emma) Huseynova and I am from Azerbaijan. I graduated Baku State University with a Master’s degree in mathematics. From 2008 to 2011 I was employed as a secondary math teacher at the British school in Baku (BIS). After leaving BIS, I gained employment at the Turkish International Academy in Baku from 2011-2013 where I taught secondary math in IGCSE, AP, SAT and general math tutoring. During my time at ATDC I won a grant from the Ministry of Education in Azerbaijan for my article, “Motivating middle school students to learn maths through games.” I have written other articles about differentiation involving applications of open-ended questions and parallel tasks to become a facilitator and create child-centered learning. Simultaneously I worked at public schools, No.132 and No. 134 as an MYP and IB Math instructor
