About James
I have been tutoring for standardized tests (ACT, PSAT, SAT, GED, ASVAB, etc.) for the last 20 years. I have done this with my own agency - Growing Desire Educational Services and with other services (Sylvan, Treetops, WyzAnt, Thumbtack, etc.). I am a college professor (30 years) specializing in math and business subjects. My degree and experience as a chemical engineer allow me to understand the science related questions and my MBA gives me the experience in the areas of reading and writing.

In teaching SAT and other standardized tests, I work from a standardized test preparation book that the student purchases and uses for homework. We begin by working through question by question in a particular subject. I will assist the student to understand the question, review the process (formula, procedure, etc.) and to practice similar questions. Students will work on specified subject questions for homework. I assist the student to complete the test, not become subject matter experts.
