About Mehmet
I am a passionate mathematics tutor with a strong academic background and international experience. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and a PhD in Mathematics from Turkey, and I completed postdoctoral research in California, USA. Mathematics has always been more than a profession for me—it is a lifelong passion. Alongside formal research and teaching, I have been actively involved in mathematics outreach projects, including volunteering as a lecturer at Nesin Maths Village ((concealed information) and Çakılarası Matematik Köyü ((concealed information) in Turkey.
Outside of mathematics and teaching, I enjoy gymnastics, cycling, hiking, and playing bağlama and kabak kemane (traditional Anatolian musical instruments).

Understanding the why behind a concept makes it much easier to remember and use that concept. Thus, I use thought-provoking questions to guide students to understand and prove things for themselves. Sometimes I use physical objects such as wooden blocks and origami to aid understanding.
In order to keep my students engaged, I vary activities throughout the lesson.
In addition to private tutoring and lecturing in universities, I have contributed as a volunteer lecturer at Nesin Maths Village, a renowned mathematics village in Turkey. This experience has given me the opportunity to adapt my teaching style to different abilities, from those who need to strengthen their foundations to those who want to explore advanced mathematical ideas.
