About Danielle
I'm a working artist myself, having worked full time in art galleries, glass studios, and in artist related spaces since finishing my undergrad degree in 2015. I am an American artist with Cuban/Puerto Rican background, living and working in Melbourne since late 2019. I am working towards making this my permanent home and have been an active participant in the glassblowing scene since my arrival.
In 2022 I completed my Master of Creative Arts degree at Deakin University, and upon completion began focusing more on my own artistic practice and my career as an educator. I have been teaching private glass classes for the past few years in Melbourne, and this year taught an undergrad art class at Deakin, in my first formal teaching role.
I have come to love and respect the privilege of educating, especially in the arts, and want to help others unlock their artistic potential :)

I would love to help you build confidence in your creative skills and develop your artistic voice. Whether you would like to explore foundations in drawing, painting, or sculpture, I can help you figure out what kinds of art you like and understand your desired goals. Together we can work towards short or long term goals to get you creating on your own, with a focus on play and trusting the process. These could be weekly, monthly, or intensive workshop sessions depending on your goals.
My passion for art education comes from years of teaching art and glass classes in public-access art studios and now teaching at university level. I feel strongly about accessibility to creativity and building skills to express ones self through visual art.
While I have worked with younger budding artists in the past, I feel my skills and passion are best suited for emerging artists aged 10-12 yrs old and up (to any age!) to develop strong technique and foundation skills for beginners.
For those with some experience looking for more technical lessons, I would love to help intermediate artists take that next step to refine their skills and artistic voices.

About my pricing / scheduling:
In Person Rate: $45 / hr (2 - 3 hr bookings) plus $20 travel fee
Video Rate: $35 / hr (1-2 hr bookings)

- Discussion about planned goals and what you would like to learn during your lesson(s)
(Free 30 min consultation)
- Short or long term lesson plan depending on your goals
- Voluntary "homework" assignments which I can give feedback on outside of lesson time
- Building a relationship to help you achieve your creative goals!
