About Jesse
My name is Jesse Myers. I earned my BFA from Brooks Institute of Photography, and worked for years as a professional photographer in commercial studio settings. As the son of an Art Educator, teaching was my ultimate calling. I earned my Masters in Art Education from University of the Arts.
I have been teaching Photography, graphic design and visual arts at the high school level for 25 years. I have created original curricula for multi leveled photography programs, Photoshop courses, analog darkroom, Graphic Design and Video to name a few. My expertise has always been in curriculum design and developing new courses which match the students needs.
Areas of expertise in photography: All camera formats from 35mm through 8 x 10. Lighting - both studio and environmental. Adobe Creative Cloud (Bridge, Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere). Darkroom - developing, printing and alternate techniques.

I approach each student where they are at in their photographic journey. Whether you are a beginner who has never picked up a camera, to a professional who needs updating, all opportunities offer a chance to build a unique learning plan.
Typical Lesson Plan - We can custom build our lesson structure from your interests and experience level. The lessons will have a technical component, use of design elements, as well as photo history. We will create an open ended project model that gives you a chance to stretch your photographic muscles and build your skills!
I am a professional photographer with a Masters in Art Education. I have been teaching high school photography for 25 years, and have worked with every aspect of the photographic process. I am able to scaffold every part of the photographic process to the learner, and make it a meaningful and enriching experience. Most importantly, I love photography and have so much fun with it, and want to pass that on to my students!
