About Joy

I am a professional classically trained musician and pianist and have taught music, piano and organ, voice, guitar, flute and clarinet over a span of 45 years. I have also directed adult and children's choirs, and participated in many professional performances in the classical, Christian, contemporary and secular genres. I have taught every age group children through adults, and beginners through advanced.

I teach a standard level piano course in in my lessons that utilizes a wide variety of styles of music from classical to jazz and contemporary. The lessons incorporate a general overview of music training including keyboard/note training, music reading and writing, theory and ear training. Daily practice times are required with a practice chart to keep track of your progress. Lessons are once a week for 30 minutes for beginners and 45 minutes to an hour for more advanced students. Most importantly, I want you to discover and enjoy the exciting world of music as you learn at your own pace and feel the satisfaction of having the new skill of playing the piano for yourself, your family and your friends.
