My goal for students is to develop a love of music and the lifelong skill of playing an instrument. I believe that each student's needs are unique and I focus on creating a custom curriculum to help them excel. Through lessons, it is my goal that students develop strong piano technique, intentional listening skills, overall artistry, and freedom in creative expression as well as to become confident in music notation, rhythm, tone production, interpretation, and theory.

Kaitlyn Ronstadt has been teaching piano in the Bellingham area since 2013 and is a sought-after teacher in the area. She completed her Master's in Music in Piano Performance, and she currently serves on the board of the Bellingham Music Teachers Association and runs a thriving studio from her home in the South Hill neighborhood. Her students regularly perform in the community and consistently achieve high honors at the Washington State Music Literacy Program.
With her training in the Suzuki method and the Taubman approach, Kaitlyn is committed to helping her students develop strong piano technique, intentional listening skills, and overall artistry. Students of Ronstadt’s studio learn to become more aware of how their technique and body movement affect their playing by learning to effectively release tension and to leverage natural body mechanics to achieve a more effortless and well-intentioned performance. This holistic learning approach allows students to flourish as well-rounded musicians.
Encouraging students to pursue their musical passions is a cornerstone of Kaitlyn’s teaching philosophy. As a result, each student benefits from a distinctive and personalized lesson plan designed to enhance their overall musicianship. Students work through a balance of classical and contemporary repertoire, as well as explore improvisation and composition in their piano lessons.
Kaitlyn enjoys working with students of all ages and skill levels, and her favorite thing about teaching is learning what approach resonates with a student the best. Kaitlyn is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association and is the chair of the Music Literacy Program.
