About Judy

I have spent over ten years helping people find their musical voices as both an active composer and a regular stage performer. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition with a piano emphasis, which shaped my deep love for musical creation. In my studio, I treat music as a beautiful lifelong journey rather than a chore of memorizing strict rules.

I place a massive focus on helping my students create unique improvisational pieces and develop their spontaneous composition skills. Whether you are an absolute beginner touching the keys for the first time or an advanced musician refining your performance, I tailor my lessons to you. For example, I recently worked with an advanced classical pianist who felt completely stuck whenever they tried to play without sheet music.

We practiced relaxing our hands and letting our fingers follow simple chord shapes to make up stories on the spot. Within a month, they were happily playing beautiful, improvised melodies for their family and felt a completely renewed connection to the piano. I believe that anyone can learn to compose their own songs if they are given the right tools and a supportive space.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology focuses deeply on developing strong auditory skills to help you become a much more intuitive piano player. We will work on essential ear training for pianists, which includes learning to identify complex chords, melodies, and rhythms purely by ear. I will also guide you through practical exercises to help you develop perfect pitch over time.

This unique training is perfect for creative composers and modern digital producers who want to capture their musical ideas instantly. I specialize in helping you recognize intricate musical patterns on the keys without ever relying on traditional sheet music. For instance, I recently worked with a young beatmaker who had amazing melodic ideas but struggled to find the right keys to play them.

We practiced matching their vocal hums to piano notes, and soon they were writing chord progressions by ear in just a few minutes. This step by step approach is carefully designed to be suitable for all skill levels. I am completely committed to supporting you in excelling so you can feel completely free at the keyboard.

We will slowly build up your listening confidence using interactive games and real-world songs you love.
