About Jesse

I started my professional career at a community college in western Washington, Pierce College in Puyallup. Though I did end up changing my major eventually after I completed A degree in Business and Human Resource Management. From this, I gained skills in running a small business, communication, and powerful networking tools. These are all skills I utilize to ensure nobody is confused, that we are always on the same page, and that I meet whatever standards are set for me by the end-user client. I eventually made the switch to Central Washington University to continue my education, and in the spring of 2020, I achieved that goal by attaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts of Biology. I got very close to finishing my Education Minor but stopped just 2 classes short, my passion for education was to take a different path than through the public school systems. The Covid-19 pandemic changed a lot and I adapted to it. I reached out to the community and devoted myself to helping local families and their children, fueled by my ambition to be the best educator I possibly could. I successfully assisted over 7 families with students who had between 15 and 30 missing assignments when I first entered. By the time I was done, in less than a month, the parents saw a huge reduction in missing work and significant rise in their children's grades at school. Today, I still do this. After completing 3 successful years, I am looking to repeat this again, but improve where I can to innovate this business and serve my clients even better. I do this because it is my passion, it is what I love. Working with young, up-and-coming bright minds in a way that fosters their curiosity and positive development is a privilege and helping others is what I was put on this earth to do. Clients that decide to use my services can count on quantifiable results and returns for their investment, more confidence from the student in the material they wish to better understand, and in general leaving the tutoring session more knowledgeable than before.

To start this, I want to list the rates of my service. My rates are between 50-75 dollars an hour; I also offer first two weeks at 40 an hour as a way to make sure i am a good fit, this also allows me to assess the situations so we can better negotiate price. I am always flexible with payments as I want to help bottom line.

My approach as an educator is utilizing my teaching philosophy involving what I call the Three Pillars of Success. Patience, Positivity, and Perspective are the three Ps that appear in every lesson from me. Patience is critical because everyone learns at a different pace, and I am okay with that! Positivity is the next P I abide by. Positivity acts as a fuel for students and myself to push through regardless of what sort of challenge is thrown at us. Finally, Perspective is my final key. Many things in school are presented in a very linear fashion and leaves a lot of fun and important nuance out. I take pride in helping tie multiple viewpoints from various different sides and allowing students to formulate their own perspectives based on the evidence given to them.

A typical lesson from me is pretty exciting! I come prepared with lesson plans specifically designed for the students based off what the student is working on or will be. I am a life long learner and I truly do love what I do as education is my life long dream. In light of this, expect a lot of exciting explanations and colorful descriptions to not only make the topic a little more entertaining, but also help you better remember what was taught. I tend to focus heavily on making sure students understand the fundamentals and then slowly but surely I build the students understanding through examples, careful explanation, guided practice, and demonstrations.

What sets me apart is my high level of reading thus leading to effortless mastery of content and a searing determination to see the student not just improve but succeed and have pride in their accomplishments. The vision of my work is to see the student eventually surpass my ability and become the master, while simultaneously being able to critically analyze and think for themselves as independent and mature adults who will build our future society.

Finally, who are these lessons for? I have worked with all age ranges from 1st grade to 12th. I have worked with running start students, college prep/ early college classes, adults who are trying to transition careers going back to college, and really just anyone who desires to learn. I can work with young children, adults, and just about anyone in between as I have years of experience when it comes to professional communication as well as being able to break down concepts at different levels to suit any age or learning style.

My rates are 40 for the first two weeks, then 50-70 for every week after. The price depends on the students level and needs, I use the first two weeks to assess these and negotiate a price based on the situation.
