About Dawn
I am a dedicated saxophone tutor with over 11 years of experience working with college students. I believe music education should be simple, engaging, and confidence-building. My teaching style focuses on strong fundamentals, creativity, and steady progress.
My lessons cover tone quality, breath management, finger technique, rhythm training, and performance preparation. I combine structured exercises with creative practice such as improvisation to help students enjoy learning. Real-world music examples help students connect practice routines with actual playing.
I use modern learning tools including recording feedback, play-along tracks, and personalised practice routines. I also teach music theory, ear training, and sight-reading to support complete musical growth.
My goal is to help students become confident, expressive, and independent saxophone players. Whether you want to perform at college events or play music for personal enjoyment, I provide clear instruction and consistent support.

My Saxophone teaching methodology focuses on building confidence through understanding and consistency. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable and supported. Lessons begin with essential techniques such as breath support, tone production, embouchure control, finger technique, articulation, and reading music.
Creativity is encouraged by introducing improvisation exercises, melody exploration, and learning music from different styles. I act as a mentor by guiding students through challenges, motivating them, and helping them stay focused on their goals. I believe mentorship plays a key role in long-term musical growth.
Critical thinking is developed by teaching students how to understand rhythm patterns, scales, and musical structure. Accountability is built through practice planning, progress tracking, and regular performance reviews. In addition to Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Sight Reading, Ear Training, and Performance Skills to help students become well-rounded musicians.
