About Bernadette

I have spent over seven years helping singers unlock their true potential both on stage and in the recording booth. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Choral Conducting with a vocal emphasis, which gives me a deep understanding of vocal mechanics. My passion lies in preparing students for professional recording sessions and studio vocal production.

I specialize in modern commercial styles like rhythm and blues, pop, hip hop, and electronic music. In my studio, we focus heavily on essential studio skills like microphone technique, vocal compression, and auto tune awareness. We also spend a lot of time layering harmonies and learning how to communicate effectively with music producers.

I work with a wide range of clients including school students, emerging artists, and adult singers aiming for a commercial release. I remember working with a young pop singer who was terrified of the studio microphone and sounded flat on their first demo. We worked on mic distance and headphone mixing, and their next recording session resulted in a beautiful track ready for streaming platforms. About the lesson

My lessons focus on building strong ensemble skills and making sure every singer finds their place in a group. We dive deep into choral singing, vocal blending, and part singing so everyone learns how to listen while they perform. I also teach sight reading for choirs, which helps students pick up new sheet music much faster.

Many of my students come from different musical worlds. I often work with instrumentalists who want to sing and commercial artists looking to adapt to a group setting. For instance, I recently helped a classical violinist transition into a community choir by teaching them how to match the vocal colors around them.

We practice blending our voices until the entire group sounds like one single, powerful instrument. I guide everyone on how to hold their own vocal line while staying completely in tune with the singers next to them. This balanced training gives you the confidence to become a truly valuable choir member. My goal is to support every student so they can excel and feel proud of their contribution to the performance.
