About Dave
Hi, I’m Dave! I’m a professional songwriter, composer, singer, and music producer with over 15 years of experience in music.
I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Music from HEMU Lausanne (Switzerland), where I studied voice, performance, and composition.
Throughout my career, I’ve written and produced original music, collaborated with other artists, and worked on projects ranging from pop and rock to soul, jazz, and music for live performances and theatrical productions.
My songwriting credits include co-writing the official song for the Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games, as well as writing and releasing my own original music.
Alongside my artistic career, I’ve spent years helping singers and musicians develop their creativity, improve their songwriting skills, and bring their musical ideas to life.
As an active songwriter and producer, I understand both the creative and practical challenges of writing music, from finding the right melody or lyric to developing an arrangement and recording a finished song.
My teaching approach is supportive, flexible, and adapted to each student’s goals. Whether you’re writing your very first song or working on your next release, I’ll help you develop your skills while finding your own artistic voice.
I teach in English, Italian, and French, both online and in person in Los Angeles.

Have a song idea but don’t know how to develop it? Or maybe you’ve been writing music for a while and want to take your songwriting to the next level?
Whether you’re a complete beginner, an aspiring singer-songwriter, or an experienced musician, I’ll help you develop your creativity, strengthen your songwriting skills, and turn your ideas into finished songs.
My lessons are personalized to your goals, musical interests, and experience level. Depending on what you’d like to work on, we can explore:
* Melody & Harmony: Writing memorable melodies, finding interesting chord progressions, and understanding how they work together.
* Lyrics & Storytelling: Expressing your ideas through meaningful lyrics, improving phrasing, and developing your own writing style.
* Song Structure: Building verses, choruses, bridges, and arrangements that support your musical ideas.
* Composition & Creativity: Developing musical ideas, overcoming creative blocks, and exploring different approaches to writing music.
* Arrangement & Production: Turning your compositions into demos, exploring instrumentation, and preparing your songs for recording or release.
* Artistic Development: Finding your own musical identity and developing a recognizable sound.
I believe songwriting is something you learn by doing. While we can explore music theory and composition techniques when useful, my approach is always practical and creative.
We can work directly on your original songs, develop new ideas together, or use guided exercises to help you build your songwriting skills.
You don’t need to know music theory or play an instrument to get started. All levels are welcome!
Lessons are available online and in person in Los Angeles.

I started working with Dave because I wanted to learn not only how to sing but also how to write my own songs. From the very first lesson he made me feel comfortable and encouraged. His guidance on rhythm, stressed syllables, and fitting lyrics to melodies has been invaluable. Dave is a patient and creative teacher who takes time to understand his students’ goals. I truly recommend him to anyone looking for a teacher who cares deeply about helping you grow and express yourself as an artist!
I had some experience with singing before, but I wanted to improve my technique and style. Dave has a sharp ear and always notices the little details that make a big difference. He knows how to push me in the right way without ever making me feel pressured. My range and control have improved a lot since working with him.
