About Mark
I started my music career at 16 playing in local bands. I played 6 years in various Air Force Bands. After the Air Force I studied at Berklee College of Music. There I studied with Jazz Great Gary Burton. I returned to Washington DC. To recover front injuries and started working as a band leader and record producer.
I began teaching in 1996. I taught at Columbia Institute for Fine Arts for 18 years. I had a very successful studio in Alexandria Va where I was voted Alexandria’s best for two years.
I am currently teaching mostly online.
