About Daniel
I have a BA in philosophy with first-class honours from the University of York, and an MA from the University of Birmingham. A number of my papers have been published, and I was previously an editor of a philosophical journal. I have been teaching for over four years. I am reliable, dedicated and professional. I have an exceptional history of helping students achieve success. I am a professionally trained, passionate philosopher. I believe in helping students to achieve highly whilst also imparting some of what makes philosophy a wonderful subject. Despite what some people think, you absolutely can maximise both simultaneously. Learning should be fun and rewarding, but still results driven. I have excellent communicative and interpersonal skills. Philosophy is hard, we will look at things together that some of the greatest minds of the last two and a half thousand years have struggled to grapple with, so although I can never make it easy, I can certainly make it *easier*. I want to help you appreciate the satisfaction of understanding and working with something that was originally very challenging. In short, work with me if you want someone: - Professional - Reliable - Experienced - Results driven - Passionate - Knowledgeable We will work on understanding, essay writing, and exam technique. I will also help you to think in a more critical, rigorous manner. I offer a high-quality service that will maximise your chances of success and bring you the highest intellectual return. My excellent reviews attest to this. Please do get in touch if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you soon! Selected Papers: ‘Pearls and Personal Identity'. Ephemeris 2015, pp. 13-20. Perfect! FANTASTIC teaching
I started philosophy this past semester as part of my intercalated year for uni, and I have to say that I've learnt more from Daniel in 2 hours than I have in the months of classes I've sat through, being very confused!
I've been studying a science degree for the past three years, so trying to understand university-level philosophical theory was a whole new paradigm for me. I was worried prior to the session that I would be quizzed on everything I was supposed to know already, or my lack of understanding would be met with disapproval - so I was absolutely blown away by his patience and ability to break everything down for me in an understandable way that was neither patronising nor overwhelming. He went at a comfortable pace for me to write any salient information down, and clearly was very knowledgable in the topics I required help with. I was impressed at how quickly he was able to gauge my 'situation' and thus adapted the lesson and his approach to my needs.
If you require a teacher who seems to have a genuine passion for philosophy, and a wealth of knowledge to complement it, I cannot recommend Daniel enough.
Subject : Philosophy
Outcome : Since our session, I felt much more confident with the topics coming out of the session, which really gave me renewed energy to read through some of the heavy texts which I had been struggling so muchPerfect! Great Tutor!
Daniel taught me how to engage a clear, constructive argument for my assignment. He taught me how to use philosophical language in the correct context. Gives great and useful advice on how I can improve as a student. Really recommend people to choose Daniel for help on philosophy!

Daniel has been an excellent tutor so far for my Philosophy A Level. His lessons have been clear and concise and has good knowledge of his subject area.
My name is Brandon and I had the pleasure of working with Daniel this last year, for help with my Political Philosophy class. When I started the course, I was not able to understand anything. I was convinced I would never be able to understand the heavy philosophy readings we were assigned. I looked online and found Daniel, within a couple weeks of meeting, the readings had become easier and I was able to analyze them a lot better. We worked twice a week and I noticed, as well as my professor, that my crtical reviews and test scores greatly improved. Daniel is an amazing tutor because he really treaches you how to analyze the material and breaks it down into different ways to get you to understand it. He is an expert with the material. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for some help in Philosophy.
