About Ivy

With more than 14 years of experience, I am a dedicated Flute tutor teaching School, College, and working professional students. I enjoy helping students develop both technical skills and musical understanding.

My tutoring style is patient, practical, and well-organised. I focus on correct breathing techniques, tone clarity, finger technique, rhythm control, and musical expression. I ensure students learn step by step and build confidence in their playing.

In addition to flute lessons, I teach related subjects such as music theory, notation reading, sight reading, rhythm training, and ear training. I also help students prepare for exams, assessments, auditions, and stage performances.

My unique skill is guiding students with clear practice methods and regular feedback. I believe consistency and discipline lead to steady improvement. My aim is to help students become confident flute players who enjoy learning and performing music.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology for flute is based on communication, creativity, and flexibility. I believe every student learns music differently, so my lessons are designed to match individual needs while keeping learning enjoyable and effective.

Communication is the core of my teaching. I explain flute techniques clearly and in simple words. I use demonstrations and practical examples to help students understand better. I encourage students to ask questions and share their difficulties openly. Regular feedback helps students recognise their progress and areas for improvement.

Creativity makes flute learning interesting and meaningful. I use creative warm-ups, rhythm exercises, and enjoyable pieces to keep students motivated. Along with technical practice, I focus on tone quality, expression, and musical phrasing. Students are encouraged to explore sound and develop confidence in their playing.

Flexibility allows lessons to adapt to each student’s learning pace. I adjust lesson plans based on progress, goals, and comfort level. Whether a student is preparing for exams, performances, or learning as a hobby, lessons are structured to support their objectives.

Flute lessons include breathing techniques, posture, embouchure, finger coordination, articulation, scales, rhythm, and sight reading. I focus on building strong fundamentals for long-term growth.

I also teach related subjects such as music theory, note reading, rhythm training, ear training, and basic performance skills. These subjects help students become complete musicians.
