About Maria
Hi! My name is Maria Maraldo and I graduated from the University of Michigan’s School of Music in May of 2025, with a degree in Violin Performance and minors in Music Education and Political Science. I have over 8 years of experience teaching students privately, and over 5 teaching in group settings. I have taught students ages 5-18, and also welcome adult beginners who are looking to start their musical journey in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Throughout my studies, I have had the privilege of studying under esteemed violinists Hai Xin Wu and Fabiola Kim, experiences that greatly shaped both my musicianship and teaching philosophy. In addition to classical training, I have also worked extensively with students through non-profit teaching programs at U of M, where I gained valuable experience mentoring young musicians in collaborative and educational settings.

As a teacher, my goal is to make learning music engaging, personalized, and rewarding. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to each individual’s goals, pace, and interests while creating a positive and motivating atmosphere. Whether a student is preparing for auditions, developing strong fundamentals, or simply learning for enjoyment, I strive to help them grow not only as musicians, but also as confident and creative individuals.
