My approach to music education is founded on social-emotional learning theory. I am also very repertoire-based. I believe the same basic musical concepts can be taught through any piece of music. So I strive to choose a student repertoire that will be fun to learn and work on for the individual student, rather than prescribing "the perfect piece" for a specific educational concept. For individual voice lessons, I tend to start with students in the 3rd grade. However, I would be happy to talk to you about general music appreciation classes for younger students at a discounted rate and for shorter amounts of time.
