About Barrett

With more than 14 years of experience, I am a professional singing tutor who has taught students of all ages, from school children and college students to working professionals. My goal is to help students develop their vocal skills, gain confidence, and enjoy the journey of learning music.

I provide interactive, student-centred lessons that cover essential vocal techniques such as pitch control, breath management, tonal quality, and vocal strength. I also focus on music theory, rhythm, sight-reading, and performance skills, including expression, stage presence, and audience engagement. My lessons combine technical exercises with real-life examples to make learning engaging and practical.

I adapt lessons to each student’s level, learning style, and goals. Beginners are nurtured with supportive guidance to build confidence and solid foundations, while advanced learners receive structured coaching to refine techniques, prepare for performances, and achieve personal milestones. I also provide strategies to overcome challenges such as stage anxiety, vocal strain, or maintaining consistent practice.

I aim to create a positive, encouraging, and inspiring learning environment. My mission is to help students develop both technical mastery and artistic expression, enabling them to progress steadily, enjoy learning music, and perform confidently in any setting.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology for Singing is structured, encouraging, and designed to help students enjoy the learning process. I use real-life examples and case studies from everyday voice use, songs, and performances to explain vocal techniques clearly. I teach with empathy and patience, understanding that confidence takes time to build. My approach is flexible, allowing lessons and exercises to be adapted to each student’s needs and goals.

Clear communication helps students follow techniques easily and apply them correctly. Using a problem-solving approach, I help students identify and improve vocal challenges through guided practice. Along with Singing, I also teach relevant subjects such as basic music theory, rhythm training, ear training, vocal care, and performance skills to support complete vocal development.
