My approach to teaching brings a lot of patience, endurance, and humor. I believe in order to have a productive learning environment, you need to know when to push forward or when to take a break. If we begin a project that brings frustration at any point, we can stop, take few minutes to breathe or stretch or talk about anything other than sewing, and the resume! Sewing is meant to be enjoyable, although it can be super tricky at times - and mistakes will be made! I like to roll with the punches and encourage that nothing has to be perfect - on the first try or even on the final product - as long as you are happy with the results!
Hi all! I'm a Wardrobe Supervisor, Dresser, and Stitcher for Off-Broadway Theatre. I have a BA in Theatre and four years of professional experience in theaters across NYC. Due to the pandemic, the entertainment industry is on hold for the foreseeable future. I'm taking this time to not only hone my skills, but help others learn about sewing and related crafts in an approachable, fun way!
Due to Covid, I would prefer to teach virtually. However, if you are very much a beginner and don't have supplies of your own, I will travel to you if you and who live with have been quarantining safely!
