About Juliana

Hello!
I am a professional writer and former classroom assistant. I have over 5 years of experience working with children ages 2 years through high school. I'm proud to offer English language tutoring to children of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities. I can prepare your child for standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT, or help them bump up their grades in school with homework assistance.

I just moved to New York City and am available for both online and in person tutoring sessions.

About the lesson

All children have unique ways of learning! It is my mission to listen compassionately and provide individualized lessons to meet students where they are and help them achieve their goals to grow. I make learning fun by working within the realm of my students' interests. Together, we find literature and projects that engage and interest the student. They will learn to comprehend vocabulary and literary devices and write with greater insight.

I believe in practical application of knowledge. Your child won't just memorize vocabulary words, they'll learn about the language behind the words to aid them in overall reading comprehension. They won't just learn how to write an essay, they'll learn about persuasive writing structures that will improve their skills in written communication. They'll earn high scores on tests, but they'll also become well-read thinkers and insightful conversationalists. They'll learn study skills that will help them plan their time and become better organized.

As a professional writer and editor, I can help your child polish their writing and reading skills to prepare them for college and beyond.
