About Kristin
My experience as a pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade special educator, an assistant professor of graduate special education, an edTPA Scorer, and a school-based consultant make me an exceptional candidate to work with those seeking to improve their mastery of the English Language. My Master of Arts in Teaching and my Education Specialist degrees are in special education and my Doctor of Education is in K-12 Teacher Leadership. I have guided teachers in the field as an intern supervisor, cooperating teacher, and first-year teacher mentor. As you can see I have worked with children and adults seeking to improve their English language skills.
Currently I serve as a dissertation advisor, reader, and adjunct at Saint Peter’s University. As an adjunct, I am designing and instructing graduate courses for the University’s newly instituted Teacher of English Language Learners Certification Program. In addition, I have been tasked with developing curriculum and instructing undergraduate courses in childhood and elementary education. I continuously embed the language in requirements of the edTPA during course design and throughout instruction. Being a dissertation advisor and reader enables me to remain current in best practices for developing research studies, data collection procedures, and data analysis.

In closing I would like to add that my educating of children and adults in-part takes the form of experiential learning. I help learners make connections between the real-world and the course content. By being direct recipients of experiential learning, these learners understand where the course content can skills can be applied in every day life. More importantly, I endeavor to inspire the learners I work with to discover their values, to see the uniqueness and potential of each learning opportunity, to embrace their strengths and use them to build upon their areas of need, and to encourage collaboration for achieving growth and success.
