About Amy
Hello, my name is Dr. Amy McGreevy, and I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-C), and Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) with over 15 years of nursing experience in both clinical practice and higher education.
Throughout my career, I have cared for patients in a variety of healthcare settings while also mentoring and educating future nurses. As a university nursing faculty member, I teach undergraduate and graduate nursing students in areas such as pediatrics, leadership, evidence-based practice, research methods, and clinical decision-making. My experience allows me to bridge the gap between classroom concepts and real-world nursing practice, helping students develop both knowledge and confidence.
I understand that nursing school can be challenging. Whether you are preparing for an exam, struggling with a difficult concept, working on a research assignment, or preparing for the NCLEX, my goal is to provide a supportive and encouraging learning environment where questions are welcomed and mistakes become opportunities for growth.
Students who work with me can expect organized, professional, and individualized instruction tailored to their learning needs. I focus on helping students strengthen critical-thinking skills, improve test-taking strategies, understand complex nursing concepts, and apply evidence-based knowledge to clinical situations. I believe that every student is capable of success when provided with the right guidance, resources, and encouragement.
My approach combines academic rigor with patience and compassion. I take pride in helping students build confidence in their abilities while developing the competence required to excel in nursing school and professional practice. Whether you are just beginning your nursing journey or advancing your education at the graduate level, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals and reach your full potential.
I look forward to partnering with you on your path to becoming a successful healthcare professional.

As a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-C), Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), and nursing faculty member, I believe that effective teaching goes beyond simply presenting information—it involves helping students develop critical thinking skills, confidence, and the ability to apply knowledge in real-world clinical situations.
My teaching approach is student-centered and interactive. I use a variety of instructional techniques, including case studies, clinical scenarios, concept mapping, NCLEX-style questions, active discussions, and evidence-based practice activities. I adapt my teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and encourage students to actively participate in the learning process rather than passively receive information.
A typical lesson begins with an assessment of the student's current understanding and learning goals. Together, we identify areas of strength and topics requiring additional support. Lessons generally include a brief review of foundational concepts, guided application through practice questions or case studies, discussion of clinical relevance, and strategies for improving test-taking and critical-thinking skills. I conclude each session with a summary of key points and individualized recommendations for continued learning.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my combination of extensive clinical experience, advanced nursing education, and years of teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing students. As a faculty member, I understand both the academic expectations students face and the practical skills needed for success in clinical practice. I strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.
My lessons are designed for nursing students at all levels, including pre-nursing, associate degree, BSN, RN-to-BSN, and graduate nursing programs. I provide support in nursing fundamentals, pediatrics, leadership, evidence-based practice, research methods, epidemiology, NCLEX preparation, clinical reasoning, and advanced nursing coursework. I also assist students with scholarly writing, APA formatting, research projects, presentations, and exam preparation.
My goal is to help students not only achieve academic success but also become knowledgeable, compassionate, and competent healthcare professionals.
