About Antoine

I have been giving private lessons for more than 10 years. I started helping middle schoolers when I was in high school and I continued throughout my university studies. I helped prep students, engineering school and college students and many high school students (usually good students who wanted to consolidate the basics to enter the superior). The grades of my pupils have always increased, whether they are in difficulty (inf to 7) or very good (15).

I have also given a lot of oral exams to university students. I taught in highschool for a year in Lyon (France) where I was able to experiment some innovative teaching methods based on fun activities.

Finally, I taught 1 year at the university in London when I was studying for my thesis. A good opportunity to teach in another language.

About the lesson

I taught high school in France and in college in England where I did my thesis. I am currently traveling around the world but I miss teaching, so I decided to get back to it.

I can teach at all levels education (higher education included). As far as my method of work is concerned, I try as much as possible to contextualize and add content to the studied notions (concrete cases, applications to physics or economics, historical context of theory, usefulness in mathematics ...), and there is no better way to remember and understand maths, conversely there is nothing worse than doing maths with the sole purpose of solving exercises. For the rest, I adapt according to the needs but I always start by making sure that the course is understood; I generally take this opportunity to give a different explanation of the one seen in class and I add some examples. The rest is according to the desires: review homework, exercises, make new ones (which I can prepare for you upstream), etc.

Beyond these purely disciplinary considerations, I can also advise you if you have questions about your carrier plans. I am very familiar with the professional integration related to engineering and / or scientific studies.

Finally, a word about what I do not do: I do not correct what will be in class, it would be wasting time and I do not want to encroach on the work of your teachers.
