About Kiran
I have been part of the Kumon teaching programme, working as a classroom assistant for 5 years where I have been involved in helping children up to GCSE-level maths with homework or classwork, hoping to pass on my passion.
Classes have held up to 20 students, from different age groups ranging from 3 up to 16. Many students have gone on to pass their 11+ exams, as well as GCSE students improving their grades.
I am well organised and will ensure any prep is done in advance of all lessons and that homework (if required) will be set accordingly. My organisation skills, coupled with my communication skills, will allow for a schedule that suits and benefits the child's learning capabilities.

My teaching methods are geared towards students who are looking to either gain the extra edge as a supplement to their classroom learning, as well as children who are finding it challenging to keep up with the pace of their lessons. By finding easier ways of learning for the child, I aim to ensure that they fully understand the work they are doing. I also find ways to make learning more fun and interactive, such as using worksheets that differ from the standard and setting game activities for homework to keep students interested in learning.
A typical 1hr session may look like this:
- 15 min recap of the previous session to ensure repetition and full understanding;
- 20 min teaching time for new content;
- 20 min interactive learning (example questions, learning games, worksheets etc);
- 5 min setting homework
