About Libby

Hello! My name is Libby and I'm a prospective Psychology University student, working towards graduating with a BSc degree in Psychology. I have completed my A-levels for Psychology, English Language and Chemistry, therefore I am familiar with and understand all of the content on the Psychology AQA A-level course. My average mark on exams in psychology during years 12 and 13 was 86.22% with a consistent grade A*, therefore I consider myself knowledgeable and qualified to tutor you!

I am extremely passionate about the subject and find it fascinating as I am able to learn more about myself and those around me due to how applicable the subject is to real life! I used to informally tutor students a few years ago, however I have recently been focusing on developing my own education and knowledge.

I have completed online courses in Psychology so have gained qualifications in: Psychology Unveiled: Fields and History - Virtual Work Experience.

I am a friendly tutor who provides my students with an optimistic view towards exams, by not only teaching content and exam technique but also how to cope with the stress of exams. I believe that a teacher can make the subject so much more interesting and enjoyable, so I hope that I can be that for you!

About the lesson

I focus on helping students understand the content of psychology, so I link all topics to real life examples. I use acronyms and come up with creative ways to help memorise the content. My lessons are for learning content at AQA A-level for psychology, whether you are looking to simply pass or get the maximum grade! AQA students typically struggle with A02 application and expanding on A03 evaluation, therefore developing these skills will be the main focus of my lessons, unless a student asks otherwise. I believe that forming an opinion is an essential part of the psychology course as it allows for critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the topics, so a large part of my lessons would be discussions using terminology that is specific to psychology A-level. Additionally, I studied English language at A-level and found a large improvement in my understanding of psychology and how to write an essay due to this, so I will also focus on essay writing and exam technique during my lessons. During the initial session, we will discuss the student's goals and specific weaknesses from which I will devise a lesson plan for them to help them to the best of my ability. I will also provide a taster session for a preset topic so that the student can decide if we are a good fit or not.
