About Jolie

I’m a pre-med student with a deep passion for psychology, neuroscience, and understanding how people think and feel. I love analyzing the world around me, finding patterns, and uncovering meaning in human behavior. I’m naturally curious, empathetic, and committed to personal growth, and I enjoy using my experiences to help and connect with others. Outside of academics, I have a wide range of interests that keep me inspired and balanced. I enjoy swimming, writing poetry, reading about psychology, and exploring creative ways to express myself. I also love working with kids and mentoring others, which allows me to share my knowledge while building confidence and curiosity in those I teach. I value authenticity, meaningful connections, and learning through both successes and challenges. I try to approach life with thoughtfulness, humor, and a genuine desire to understand others; qualities that shape who I am today and guide the way I interact with the world.

About the lesson

I love helping students truly understand concepts, using analogies and clear explanations so they can think critically instead of just memorizing. I keep lessons engaging by encouraging students to discover their own motivation and take pride in their progress.

A typical session usually starts with a quick recap or a chat about any challenges since our last meeting, then we dive into guided practice to help recognize patterns and build confidence. I also assign small amounts of homework so students can practice independently and reinforce what we’ve covered.

What makes me different as a tutor is that I care more about how students feel about their own growth than just their grades. I’m patient and empathetic, creating a space where it’s safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and really see improvement.

I usually work with high school students but also enjoy tutoring middle schoolers, especially those looking to strengthen their skills and feel confident in their abilities.
