About Casey
Clinical Psychology Just Clicked I wasn’t always an academic. In high school, I was an underwhelmed, disengaged student who never quite connected with the material. But everything changed after four years of active duty in the United States Air Force. At 23, just weeks after finishing my enlistment, I woke up one morning and thought, “I think I’ll get a doctorate in psychology and become a therapist.” That intuitive decision set me on a path that finally made sense—and I never looked back. I’ve always been a natural healer with a deep understanding of human nature. Becoming a therapist wasn’t just a career choice—it felt like a calling I’d had since childhood. Once I started taking psychology courses, it all just clicked. Despite my rocky start in school, I excelled in undergrad and quickly rose to the top of my class. From there, I went straight from my BA to a doctoral program in clinical psychology. My graduate training was a balanced mix of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches. I was fortunate to learn from incredible mentors in psychodynamic theory and adult psychopathology—professors who shaped how I understand people and therapy. In undergrad, I even took graduate-level statistics and data analysis, which gave me a strong head start in grad school. After 10.5 years of full-time academic training, I’ve been through every stage of the journey—and I know what it takes. Whether you're just starting out, struggling with coursework, or planning your next step, I’ve got your back.
