About Sara

I am a psychology and child development graduate who has a passion for teaching and thrives from helping other achieve their goals. As well as having previous experience with tutoring, I have classroom experience with a range of subjects and have worked with youths who display challenging behaviours. I have undertaken GCSE maths and further maths myself and have always had a passion for it which I love sharing. My degree has taught me a lot when it comes to teaching, for example effective ways of teaching, individual differences, memory and ways to acquire information, and dealing with stressful circumstances e.g., exam seasons. Therefore, my degree has helped me enhance my skills and have the right mindset to support students through their academic journey.

Previously, I have taught maths to a range of students who have different needs and abilities, at different levels. I have helped my students to turn the weaknesses into strengths and helped them to acquire useful skills which they can use in their daily life. I have witnessed and supported my previous students to get amazing results with SATS, secondary maths test, and with their GCSEs. I am dedicated to make a change and help others to change their attitude towards maths and develop a passion for it.

I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and assist my future students to reach their goals and aspirations!

About the lesson

My lessons are adapted to individual needs. It is important to me to get to know my students, so I am able to design and structure the lessons in such a manner in which my students are fully engaged and learning effectively and efficiently. I teach my students using different methods and ways, for example by giving them real life examples or little tricks of remembering information to ensure that they will have a better understanding of maths. I like to test and discuss previous lessons/topics with my students to encourage them to remember and further learn information, as well as for me to see their progression. When appropriate, I will hand out homework to encourage practice, reflection, and revision. The homework will be marked, and the corrections would be completed together in the following lesson.
