About Teddy

Hello! I’m an experienced and passionate tutor dedicated to helping students feel more comfortable and confident within their academic journey. With a strong background in education and years of one-on-one tutoring, I provide personalized, patient instruction that meets each student where they are and helps them grow. I hold awards in student mentoring under a few agencies, and I’ve worked with students from diverse backgrounds and academic levels; from elementary/middle school learners to high school students. Whether we’re working on writing, test prep, or subject-specific skills, I focus on building both knowledge and confidence. My teaching style is clear, encouraging, and adaptable. I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel safe asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating their progress. I take pride in being reliable, well-prepared, and deeply invested in each student’s success. About the lesson

I use a student-centered, adaptive teaching approach that focuses on each learner’s individual needs, goals, and learning style. I blend active learning, scaffolding, and inquiry-based techniques to help students build confidence and deep understanding. My lessons often include visual aids, real-life examples, formative assessment checks, and reflective discussions to reinforce learning and critical thinking. A typical Lesson Plan includes: Objective & Warm-Up (5–10 min): Review previous material and introduce the day's learning goal. Direct Instruction (10–15 min): Teach key concepts using examples, visuals, and interactive explanations. Guided Practice (15–20 min): Students work through problems or tasks with my support. Independent Practice (10–15 min): Students apply what they’ve learned on their own. Review & Feedback (5–10 min): Summarize key takeaways, address questions, and give feedback. Each lesson is customized based on student progress and may include short assessments, multimedia content, or collaborative activities depending on the subject. I combine patience, subject mastery, and a personal commitment to student success. I’m not just focused on teaching content; I aim to teach students how to learn, think critically, and become independent problem-solvers. My background in both education and creative disciplines allows me to present material in fresh, engaging ways tailored to each learner. Especially as a younger person - I am able to connect with kids and teens easier as the age gap is more friendly. Who the Lessons Are For I tutor elementary, middle school, and high school. I work with students who need enrichment, academic support, test prep (SAT, ACT, etc.), or help with writing, critical reading, and interdisciplinary projects.
