About Alison
Currently, I am a graduate student in Psychology with extensive writing and research experience. During my second undergraduate degree I studied Psychology and I was fortunate enough to co-author a book chapter that was published in 2024. I am able to provide tutoring in writing, critical reflection and reasoning, as well as research development up to the undergraduate level. I have experience in qualitative research methods and prefer this approach to research. I find nothing more rewarding than supporting someone as they narrow down their own interests and what excites them, and then helping them utilize that in their academic career.

I am passionate about taking a holistic approach to tutoring in the field of psychology. It is essential to understand the big picture and how each theory or concept relates to the larger understanding, while still being familiar with common lines of questioning students will encounter during their academic experience. I am passionate about finding what your interests are and supporting you in relating your learning to your passions. I'm not ignorant to the fact that many current students struggle to understand why they ought to perform academically when they can readily access information and tools to work 'for' them online. This is why a large portion of my focus is about instilling critical thinking and reasoning skills regardless of the subject. I am comfortable working with students at high school or undergraduate level.
