About Alissa
I am a Psychology graduate and a native Tagalog speaker. I have always been passionate about language, culture, and helping others understand Filipino communication in a simple and respectful way.
My background in psychology trained me to be a good listener, patient, and professional with different kinds of learners. I am reliable, organized, and genuinely motivated to see my students grow in confidence.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, learning about different cultures, and practicing effective communication. I take my role as a tutor seriously and I value professionalism, punctuality, and kindness in every session.

My lessons are focused on conversational and practical Tagalog for everyday use.
As a Psychology graduate and native Tagalog speaker, my teaching method is patient, encouraging, and personalized. I understand that learning a new language can be intimidating, so I create a safe and supportive space where you can make mistakes and learn naturally.
A typical lesson starts with common phrases and pronunciation, followed by a short dialogue, vocabulary building, and guided conversation practice based on real-life situations like greetings, ordering food, commuting, and casual conversations.
What sets me apart is my background in psychology — I adapt to your learning style and pace, whether you are a complete beginner, a foreigner living in the Philippines, or someone who wants to reconnect with Filipino roots.
My lessons are online via Zoom/Google Meet, perfect for beginners, expats, and anyone who wants to speak Tagalog confidently.
