About Kennedy
Hello, my name is Kennedy, and I am a dedicated and patient tutor with a strong passion for helping young learners grow in both confidence and ability. With an academic background in psychology, I bring a thoughtful and student-centered approach to every lesson, understanding that each child learns differently and thrives with the right guidance and encouragement.
I have experience supporting children and teenagers in developing their writing, reading, and critical thinking skills. My focus is not only on improving academic performance, but also on helping students feel confident in expressing their ideas clearly and creatively. I create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving at their own pace.
I am highly organized, reliable, and committed to maintaining a professional standard in every session. I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs of the student, ensuring that learning is both effective and enjoyable. Whether working with beginners or more advanced learners, I prioritize clear communication, consistency, and measurable progress.
Parents can feel confident that their child is receiving attentive, high-quality instruction, while students benefit from lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and designed to help them succeed.

I take a highly personalized and engaging approach to teaching creative writing, focusing on building both skill and confidence in every student. My lessons are designed to feel supportive, inspiring, and structured, allowing students to express their ideas freely while also developing strong writing foundations.
My teaching methodology combines guided instruction with creative exploration. I use techniques such as storytelling prompts, character development exercises, and structured writing frameworks to help students understand how to organize their thoughts and bring their ideas to life. I also incorporate elements of reflective thinking and emotional expression, drawing from my background in psychology, to help students connect more deeply with their writing.
A typical lesson lasts between 45 minutes to one hour. Each session usually includes a warm-up activity to spark creativity, a focused lesson on a specific writing skill (such as plot structure, descriptive language, or dialogue), and dedicated time for the student to write and receive constructive, encouraging feedback. I also adapt lessons based on each student’s pace, interests, and learning style.
I hold an associate degree in psychology, which gives me a strong understanding of how children and adolescents learn, communicate, and build confidence. In addition, I have experience supporting young learners in academic and creative environments, helping them improve their writing, reading comprehension, and self-expression.
My lessons are ideal for children and teenagers of all levels, from beginners who are just starting to explore creative writing to more advanced students who want to refine their storytelling skills. I also support homeschool learners and students who need additional guidance outside of traditional classroom settings.
My goal is not only to teach writing, but to help each student find their voice, think creatively, and develop skills that will benefit them across all areas of learning.
