About Heather

Hi, I'm Heather, a dedicated tutor and psychology graduate from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with over 15 years of experience working with children. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Highest Honors, specializing in cross-cultural learning styles and infant/child development. I am currently a full-time private art, math, and English tutor as I pursue a Masters in Divinity through Global Awakening Theological Seminary. I've completed several education classes and achieved outstanding scores on the CBEST, exceeding the requirements for public school teaching. Additionally, I'm trained in the Davis Dyslexia Clay Model Method, offering specialized support for students with dyslexia. Graduating in the top 5% of my class and getting the highest possible score in AB Calculus, I have a proven track record of academic excellence. Let's work together to unlock your full potential and achieve your goals!

About the lesson

Embark on a journey of academic discovery and personal growth with my tutoring sessions, designed for kindergarten through 12th grade students. With a background in psychology and a passion for cross-cultural learning and child development, I bring a unique approach to education. Inspired by renowned psychologists like Carol Dweck and Kelly McGonigal, I focus not only on academic success but also on fostering resilience, confidence, and a growth mindset in my students. From mastering math concepts to crafting creative English essays, every session is a collaborative exploration where students are encouraged to ask questions, challenge themselves, and embrace confusion as a natural part of the learning process. Together, we'll navigate through academic challenges, decode complex subjects, and cultivate a love for learning that extends far beyond the classroom. Join me on this journey of empowerment and self-discovery, where every step forward is a celebration of progress and potential!
