About Alexandra

I am a Psychology MSc graduate from University College London with experience working in early years education, youth support, and safeguarding-focused settings. I have supported children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and learning needs, including SEND, within structured and professional environments.

My tutoring is specifically focused on test and exam preparation, including GCSE, A-level, and early university assessments. I help students develop effective revision strategies, understand exam questions, improve time management under pressure, and build confidence in applying knowledge in exam conditions. I also support academic writing and structured responses where relevant.

I have experience as a writing tutor, supporting students with essay structure, clarity, and academic expression, as well as helping them develop organisation and revision techniques that improve performance in exams rather than relying on last-minute memorisation.

My approach is calm, structured, and supportive, with a strong focus on breaking down exam preparation into clear, manageable steps. I emphasise active learning techniques such as practice questions, retrieval practice, and guided exam planning to help students feel more confident and in control.

I particularly support students who feel overwhelmed by exam pressure, lack structure in their revision, or struggle with confidence in test situations.

My goal is to help students not only improve their exam performance, but also develop long-term study skills that make future test preparation more manageable and effective.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is structured, supportive, and focused on helping students build effective study habits, confidence, and exam readiness. Rather than simply going over content, I focus on teaching students how to learn, including revision strategies, organisation, and exam technique.

I use a step-by-step, interactive approach that breaks tasks into manageable sections. Depending on the student’s needs, I incorporate methods such as active recall, guided planning, practice questions, and structured feedback. I also adapt my teaching style to suit different learning preferences and ensure students feel comfortable and supported throughout.

Typical lessons are 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student’s age, focus level, and goals.

I hold an MSc in Psychology from University College London and have experience working in early years education, youth support, and safeguarding-focused environments. I have also worked as a writing tutor, supporting students with academic writing, essay structure, clarity, and exam preparation.

My lessons are suitable for primary, secondary (GCSE/A-level), and early university-level students, particularly those preparing for exams or needing support with study skills, writing, organisation, or confidence. My goal is to help students become more independent, confident, and effective learners who feel more in control of their academic progress.
