About Tzara

Hi! I’m Tzara, a Psychology and Philosophy graduate with a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Auckland, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis. I’ve been tutoring Psychology, Philosophy and Science since 2025, working with both secondary and university students.

My goal is simple: I want you to understand what you’re learning, not just memorize it for the exam.

Psychology can involve a LOT of theories, research methods, statistics, terminology and competing perspectives. Philosophy can be just as challenging when you’re trying to understand an argument, evaluate an idea or structure an essay. I break these concepts down into clear, relatable explanations and then build them back up so you can confidently apply them yourself.

I also have extensive practical experience working in education, disability and psychology-related settings, including specialist education, behavioral support, brain injury rehabilitation and counseling support. My Master's research focused on confabulation (memory deficits) following traumatic brain injury, and I have presented my research at the New Zealand Applied Behavior Analysis Conference.

Most importantly, I tailor lessons to you. If something hasn't clicked after reading the textbook five times, we'll find a different way to explain it. Whether you need help catching up, preparing for an exam, improving your essays, or simply want someone to make Psychology and Philosophy feel less overwhelming, I'm happy to help.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to make Psychology and Philosophy feel much less overwhelming and much more interesting.

We’ll focus on what you actually need help with, whether that’s understanding difficult concepts, preparing for an exam, working through research methods and statistics, understanding theories, analyzing philosophical arguments, or improving an assignment.

I like to explain things using simple language, real-life examples, case studies, and questions so that you’re not just memorizing information, but actually understanding it. We can also work through practice questions together and identify exactly where you’re getting stuck.

Every lesson is tailored to your level, learning style, and goals. Whether you’re starting from scratch, trying to catch up, or aiming to take your understanding to the next level, I’ll meet you where you’re at.

Psychology topics: research methods, statistics, behavioral psychology/ABA, cognitive psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, counseling psychology and so much more!

Philosophy: argument analysis, ethics, logic, philosophical theories, essay writing and critical thinking and again, SO much more!

No question is too basic, and there’s no pressure to already understand everything. The goal is to leave each lesson feeling like, “Okay, now I actually get it.”
