About Wallis
Hi everyone! My name is Wallis and I've been teaching psychology at a college level for the past ten years.
I was born and raised in New York and have been living in Los Angeles since 2016. A few fun facts about me: I have been vegetarian since birth, I have been playing soccer since I was four years old (and I still play), and I am a first-generation American on my father's side. I lived in a tent off-grid for two summers on my friend's land in Vermont to help caretake the land and build the foundation for his cabin during the pandemic.
Some of my hobbies include running/hiking/camping, yoga, reading and writing, meditating, traveling (road trips, international trips, really anywhere I can get to), eating (yes, this counts as a hobby!), watching documentaries and sitcoms, hanging out with my friends, family, and cat, and learning new things about history, culture, psychology/science, and all things esoteric (consciousness, history, nature, culture, travel, food, etc.)

Being a good tutor and teacher means meeting the student where they are at, not only with material but with learning style. With over 10 years of experience as a psychology professor, I have had the privilege of tutoring and mentoring thousands of students towards success. Figuring out learning styles and a student's best studying methods is my first priority, followed by making sure a student has a good grasp on the material. I am here to help high school students in AP psychology and students taking any undergraduate psychology course. Looking forward to working together and improving your overall knowledge of and excitement for all things psych!
