About Megan

I am a first year student studying a BA in Psychology at the University of Pretoria. I have always loved children and from a young age wanted to be a teacher. I enjoy helping people with their various concerns and try my best to guide them where possible. However, I have decided to support people by helping the through their struggles through counselling. Although, I will not give up my teaching plans! Hence, the tutoring.

At school, I was my friends 'go to person' whenever they needed support or help understanding something, normally with regards to the English Language.

I have experience working in a toy shop that sold those toys that aiding in children's development, education, and bonding with parents. This made me even more determined to help and encourage students in their studies so they can lead bright and successful futures.

About the lesson

I offer individual and group sessions. My lessons are planned according to what the student would like cover within them, whether that be essay writing, poetry, comprehension, creative writing, learning to draft a CV or novel work.

I do advise students to send me an email highlighting any problems they may be facing before the lesson. With this, I can prepare in advance and make sure to start the lesson for example, with ready notes and sources that shall help them with their understanding. If they do not, it is not a train smash, I will be fully prepared and excited to teach either way;)

I will also be teaching learners how to make effective and efficient notes and summaries, to draft CVs and to help them prepare for their examinations. I want to take my students step by step through struggles in English. My teaching methods will include slides, notes, activities, other relevant information and testing to be sure they feel confident with their the work.

I love to engage with other people and so hope to create a safe, friendly and happy learning environment. If you are the shy type, I shall have you chatting in no time.

If at any point, students are still unsure of anything, do not worry! I do have everlasting patience and love to explain things in numerous ways. If a student needs help at any point, they must feel free to send me an email or give me a call and I will be happy to send through notes or slides helping to explain. Seriously, my doors are open to you so please do not hesitate to contact me.
I may be (hopefully) your tutor, but I shall become a friend with advice too.
