About Jess

I am currently a psychology student with previous experience in tutoring at my old high school during lunch and breaks so sessions could have been up to 45 minutes, I have taught around 3 students with one managing to get above their target grade in many exams. All students I have helped have been extremely enthusiastic and the experience has helped me to understand my chosen subjects more as well as develop intuition

About the lesson

I am a psychology undergraduate student who managed to achieve an A grade in A level psychology and A* for geography in both GCSE and A level, these are the two levels of examinations that I can tutor.
My techniques include always questioning what it is exactly that the student wants to learn of improve on which then allows me to conduct in depth lesson plans, for instance, if they wanted to revise content I might give them some advise on how to make revision material or test them on their understanding whereas if they were wanting to practice exam technique then I might try and test them with exam practice questions and then explain the methodology.
As a tutor I am attentive of the students needs and definitely put a lot of work in even before the tutoring session begins to enable the student gets the most out of each session. Also, I try to encourage independence as higher levels such as University will require critical thinking so I would love to help prepare these students for skills they will acquire.
