About Abie

I am a 3rd year undergrad student with a genuine passion for understanding human behaviour and helping others develop their confidence in the subject. Through my own studies, I consistently got A*-Bs when doing Psychology A-level, I have gained a strong understanding of psychological theories, research methods, and how to critically evaluate studies; essential skills for success in Psychology.

I know that Psychology can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when there are many theories, researchers, and evaluation points to remember. My aim is to make the subject clearer and more engaging by breaking down complex ideas into manageable explanations and connecting them to real-life examples.

As a tutor, I take a patient and supportive approach. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their understanding at their own pace. I will tailor lessons around each student's individual needs, whether they want to improve their knowledge of specific topics, prepare for exams, or develop stronger essay and evaluation skills.

About the lesson

I am a 3rd year Forensic Psychology undergraduate student who is passionate about helping students develop a strong understanding of psychological concepts and feel more confident in their studies. As I am currently studying psychology myself, I understand the challenges students face when learning complex theories, evaluating research studies, and applying knowledge to exam questions.

My approach focuses on making psychology engaging, understandable, and personalised to each student. I use a combination of clear explanations, real-life examples, active recall techniques, discussion, and exam-style practice to help students not only memorise information but understand how and when to apply it.

Lessons will be tailored around the student's goals, whether that is improving their understanding of specific topics, preparing for exams, developing essay-writing skills, or strengthening their evaluation of psychological research.

A typical lesson will last around 60 minutes, allowing enough time to introduce concepts, discuss ideas, practise applying knowledge, and identify areas for improvement.

I currently specialise in supporting GCSE and A-level Psychology students who want additional guidance, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the subject.
