About Julia

I am currently a graduate student who has earned a bachelor's degree and a post-graduate certificate in the field of psychology, mental health, and addiction. I have experience as a tutor with SuperProf, helping mature students with high-school level math and working with ESL students to strengthen their written English skills. I have been a teaching assistant in several university classes. I am able to provide engaging lessons and help students care about what they are learning because I understand that a major aspect of success in a course is being interested and confident.

About the lesson

My lessons are for students taking university-level psychology courses. Typically, I will ask a student to send me their course outline so I can tailor our lessons to their specific topics. I will use each lesson to first go over the course material from the week, discuss any questions that the student may have, and do practice exercises together to help strengthen understanding and application skills. During exam season, I also help with exam preparation and study reviews. I actively do the coursework alongside students to ensure I am giving them the in-depth understanding they deserve. Using my experience as a university teaching assistant, I structure my lessons like tutorials and value engagement with material as opposed to simple absorption.
