About Kelsey
As a trained performer and public outreach professional, I am comfortable speaking to just about anyone and any crowd. I believe in the core principles of clarity, concision, and coherence, then tailoring the style to a particular audience or theme.
When I'm not working with people, I enjoy getting outdoors and volunteering my time to clean-up efforts. Otherwise, I'm curled up with a book and a cat.

Public speaking is such a common fear; depending on the study, this anxiety is reported in anywhere from 15-30% of the population.
So why is this so common? Humans are social animals, naturally avoiding vulnerabilities for judgement, embarrassment, and the ultimate fear, being "seen".
I view public speaking as an opportunity for connection. Regardless of the subject, from rocket fuel to beaver dams, presentations in front of an audience can provide the nuance and inflection that's lost in other mediums.
I understand the importance of not only clear communications, but also delivering the desired emotional impact to your audience.
Typical lesson plans explore tone, word choice, inflection, and style. Understanding these fundamentals provide the basis to effective public speaking. Additionally, we'll look at the non-speaking parts of public presentations: posture, gesture, where to look, and what to do with your hands! By gaining awareness of your physicality within space, you project confidence and professionalism.
If there is a specific public speaking challenge needing consideration, I am happy to individualize lesson plans to help you reach your goals.
