About David

I'm an aspiring academic with a major in philosophy. I've published my work in several academic journals, presented at many graduate-level conferences across the world, and have a 3.94 GPA. My academic work focuses primarily upon philosophy and political theory, though I am also an avid reader of intellectual history, biology, anthropology, and literary criticism.

I tutor partially because I plan to teach professionally - I'm someone who is ultimately going to venture into academia, so it is something of a preparation for my future career. I also love tutoring for its own sake: for me, it is a genuine joy to help a student develop their cognitive and creative capacities. The ultimate goal of all my tutoring is not merely to help students succeed in an area they might be currently struggling, but also help them develop habits of mind that will allow them to critically engage with the world for their entire life.

About the lesson

I am open to students of all ages, learning levels, and cognitive capabilities. My teaching, lesson plans, and overall curriculum is always geared toward the particular needs of my students, which I assess through an initial, free consultation that I run to make sure that the student is a good fit for my teaching methods.
