About Logan

Throughout the entirety of my academic journey, it was always clear where my main strengths were best displayed, where I was best able to utilize all of the tools in my skill set: English classes. It's a reality that made the trek with me to Purdue University, where I graduated with highest distinction with a B.A. in creative writing and a minor in communications. I took that degree (combined with some previous sports writing experience) and parlayed it into a postgraduate opportunity at the University of Minnesota Duluth’s athletic office. My time at UMD saw me serve as the primary media contact and recap/release writer for four different sports programs- and I often dipped my toes into the workings of other teams, too.

Suffice it to say, English and its inner workings have and always will be a major part of me. However, that doesn't take up the entirety of my toolbox.

Over the last half-decade or so, I've worked in a wide variety of spaces between landing writing gigs, anywhere from offices to backroom kitchens. Regardless of where I’ve found myself, the thing that I’ve always found the most enthralling about these jobs are the opportunities I’ve gotten to interact with people, whether they be fellow employees or customers. There's an inherent need for adaptability in situations like that, for teamwork, for understanding- even for empathy. These qualities, this humanness, make those moments of connection stick out to me. Fortunately, I’ve been in a sea of different situations to help me flex the mental muscles related to said qualities.

My past jobs in the writing/English field have provided me with plenty of opportunities to mash my writing capabilities with my interest in working closely with others. This position at Superprof, though, allows me to explore this relationship in a new- and wildly exciting- way. Both academics and the field of English in particular have opened so many doors for me in my life. To be able to not only guide others towards a similar path but make meaningful connections along the way provides me with a whole new sense of fulfillment within the space.

About the lesson

Lessons can be crafted for students of all grades and levels!

Rather than using any kind of cookie-cutter plan or techniques, I prefer to mold my teaching specifically around the needs of individual students. Everyone learns differently, so it's good to be adaptable. Lessons may look different from student to student, but the quality of those lessons will be consistent!

I view the tutor-student relationship as a big game of team work. Teams can't work at all if every member isn't pulling their weight. I promise not only to always hold up my end of the bargain but to give your student a comfortable, knowledgeable environment to be able to succeed as well.
