About Henry
I’ve been making somekind of art since I’ve been able to use a crayon. My life as an artist advanced significantly in high school. I took every art class I could. Now, I’m finishing up my fourth year of art college.
In my leisure time I’m studying Eastern Orthodox Iconography and traditional Christian imagery. in 2023 I lead a workshop on imagination for the artists of the Untrained Edit (Dothan, Al). In October, 2023, I will lead the same workshop for Art Educators at the AAEA fall conference at the Wiregrass Museum of Art.

Offering personalized mentorship and instruction to develop and improve your means of perception, drawing techniques, and a pathway to purposeful art making.
No good art is void of a story.
First, I’ll talk with you to find out a bit about you. You can tell me anything and withhold anything.The purpose of this is to learn about you: (1) what about art is attractive to you? (2) why do you want to draw? In other words, what drives you to craft a drawing? (3) who are you when you aren’t drawing or looking at a picture? Or, what’s your story?
Second, we will observe the world. I’ll challenge you to observe details of things and particular natural phenomena. Part two of this observation phase is to learn (relearn or refresh oneself) the principles of art. Then, we will return to our observations and identify where in our natural reality we derive such aesthetic principles.
Our third phase will be to apply these ideas and vehicles of seeing to action by drawing. At this point the style of drawing will depend on your desired path. For example,you may want to remain in the realm of observational realism or you may want to convey more information and meaning beyond the object itself. The latter will take on more of the illustrative spirit.
