About Leona
I hold a first class degree in BAcc (Hons) Accountancy, have attained professional qualifications in both accounting (ICAS) and tax (CIOT) and worked at a big four for the last 9 years.
I have tutored for the last few years and have been marking professional exams for the last year.
Having gone through 9 year of accounting and tax exams myself, I understand how difficult it can be. The volume of data you are supposed to digest and understand in short periods of time can be intense however my working experience has taught me that if you can relate it to reality (rather than exam scenarios), it can be significantly easier to learn the fundamental principles.

Typical length of lesson can be 60-90 mins depending on preference and can either be in person in Edinburgh or Fife or virtual.
I have tutored individuals sitting accounting and tax exams at several levels including Scottish Highers, University and individuals sitting exams with ICAS, ICAEW and CIOT (ATT and CTA). My approach is dependent on the student but we tend to hone in on areas you are finding difficult or where they just aren't clicking. I then work to strip it back to basics, back this up with some real life examples and have found that then helps cement the basics so that when additional variables are added, it does't feel as overwhelming in an exam environment.
I am also an exam marker for professional qualifications so can assist in exam prep and marking practice papers whilst providing constructive feedback.
