About Elizabeth

I'm a physics specialist with over ten years' experience in tutoring and science education. I hold an MSci in Engineering Physics and Qualified Teacher Status, and my research background is in particle physics — I worked with the ANTARES neutrino-telescope collaboration at CERN. I've taught physics at Charterhouse and at an international school in Milan, and I previously worked for the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory as an Outreach and Communications Manager. My work in science education is deliberately varied: I lecture, teach and lead education projects across England, from building rockets with primary-school children to advising government on science education policy. Today I run my own STEM tuition centre, supporting around 90 students through their GCSEs and A-Levels. That range matters because no two students learn the same way. I've worked extensively in private tuition and in pupil referral units, with learners across a wide spectrum of needs and abilities, and I draw on that experience to identify each student's individual strengths and gaps and apply the teaching methods that genuinely work for them. I'm an expert A-Level Physics tutor and I'm regularly invited into schools to help raise results, with a proven track record of moving grades through targeted revision and focused teaching. I'm also a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a member of the Institute of Physics — and I bring that real, research-grade enthusiasm into every lesson. About the lesson

Every student learns differently, so I don't teach from a fixed script. I start by finding the precise gaps — the misconceptions or shaky foundations that are actually holding a grade back — and build from there with clear explanations, worked examples, and exam-technique practice mapped to your specification (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, or IB). My approach is hands-on and intuition-first: I want students to understand why, not just memorise formulae, because that's what holds up under exam pressure and unfamiliar questions. Lessons are calm, structured and focused on measurable progress, with past-paper work and targeted feedback as exams approach. Whether you're aiming to secure a strong pass or pushing for the top grades and competitive university courses, I'll tailor the work to the goal.
