About Lisa

I am a passionate educator that has spent more than 10 years working with primary-aged students to develop skills and knowledge in education across subjects such as English, Maths, Science, and Technology. When we learn about how the world around us works, learning becomes meaningful in our lives. This is important for learners to feel they own their learning. This builds confidence and love of learning.

About the lesson

As a primary school teacher, I spend time with students and parents to understand learning needs and create an individual learning program that benefit students.

Learning should always be engaging and I collaborate with learners to make sure they are getting the best from their learning. Self-reflection is key for students so that they gain a sense of confidence in the learning they are undertaking.

Thanks for your time today. Elise is able to explain multiple strategies for solving addition, subtraction and multiplication problems. She is able to identify the mathematical terms in word problems that assist her to identify how to tackle the maths in a word problem. We worked on fractions today and she understands basic equivalent fractions. The problems today did not trouble her too much and it will be interesting to see if she can find equivalent fractions when they are more complex.
