About Joy-Alix
Hello, I'm Joy.
I believe that everyone is an artist.
I can help you or your child tap into this inherent beautiful quality. I am a multi-skilled, professional and empathic qualified teacher and artist. I am able to teach you specific creative skills, GCSE and A-Level portfolio, and help you or your child develop the authentic artist that is within, desiring expression, freedom of expression and the love of creating.
I trained at University of the Arts and have worked in film and theatre, including at Pinewood Studios and in the workshops of artists such as Anthony Gormley and Marc Quinn. As Creative Director of my own arts company I now design and facilitate workshops and individual sessions for children, young people and adults.

I tailor sessions to each person, to their creative passions, goals and inspirations. I take the time to get to know each student and their way of learning and facilitate from this frame of reference, empowering students to feel happy with their development and creative style.
Much of what I do involves creating safe, relaxed spaces where people can explore feelings, creativity, and connection without pressure or judgement. Through art, movement, conversation, and playful making, I support young people and adults to build confidence, express themselves, and experience a sense of belonging.
I believe that creativity can be a powerful way to engage people, support emotional expression, and bring genuine joy. At heart, I care about helping people feel seen, encouraged, and able to be themselves.
